Today I wore earrings that my brother bought me for my 21st birthday... very blogworthy I thought as I put them on. They have been with me for 19 years and more, they were with me before I met my dearest hubby, before I had kids, before I knew about Internet, email, blogging and red wine. Well I did know about Red before that but didn't like it so much ya know! At that time I was into Southern Comfort, Pimms and Archers Peach Schnapps. Even more blog worthy is the fact that I remember he gave them to me and I think they are probably one of only about three gifts he has ever given me; a Louisville Slugger and another set of earrings (before I had pierced ears). I guess the good thing about only giving gifts every decade or so is that the recipient will always remember the gifts and where they came from!!! Thanks Nige.
Today was not at all one of any significance other than Steve decided to stick around this morning while he got ready to head out of town to a meeting, that was a little intrusive but this is his house too and he can be here between 8 and 8:30 am if he wants to I guess. It just meant that I didn't get to have my beloved Pandora playing while I made ready for public viewing and I didn't get to take my morning blog!!! Oh how I missed it. He did however download a song called the Woo Woo song which was kind of romantic in a cheeseball loungebar kind of a way. I love it though, he has the vastest (is that a word) knowledge of music than anyone I know (or don't know). He likes it all too, anything from Johnny Cash to Metallica, Ozzy to the Arctic Monkeys, that's just another thing I love about him, he embraces the music from my mother/father land. (I'm not sure what England is, and how to you determine a mother or a father land anyway?). If you have the answer please feel free to comment and let me know.
I had decided that today I would get back on the healthy eating ,weight diminishing regimen I really need to be on. I did pretty well until I came home and made the kids a healthy dinner of hot dogs and mac & cheese. Not a veggie in sight, sorry girls..... well daddy is out of town and it's just easier especially when I can hear my 'puter calling to me... "we're here come and bloggidy!!" So a quick microwave dins and off we go. The kids are amusing themselves and I don't feel guilty: they don't want a forty year old cramping their style!! What do I know about flinging stuffed dogs across the living room anyway. OK Ashley just mentioned the baton going higher than anybody I may need to intervene here!!!!!
I have taken a pic of my bike and I'm putting it on my blog so that it will make me feel like I have to ride it and get some exercise... now it's out there I feel compelled to use it. I know you've all seen it and will expect some sort of an update on how I am training for the Tour De France or something. First things first, once around the hood will do.... it's about 0.8 of a mile! No more a fat bottom girl, no more a fat bottom girl, no more a fat bottom girl.
