Welcome to Thomasville, GA a small town in the south west corner of the state boasting the best of Southern Charm, an eclectic mix of beautiful buildings grand and not so grand set in the old South.
This is the Scoop, a fantastic spot for lunch or just and afternoon treat of ice cream or a cool drink.
In a street just off the Downtown area lies a small Anglican Church with the most beautiful gardens you can imagine. Just a serene little spot with the peace and tranquility you wouldn't imagine finding so close to the bustling Downtown.
This is one of our many antique stores and you can see from all the trees that we're not exactly New Yorkers, or Chicagoans here.
This shot provides a glimpse into the old and the new buildings with the mess of utility lines still strung across the street, yes we do have a lot of power outages in storms.....
Thanks for checking us out.... More cityscapes around the world:

We also get lots of power outages, but we don't have the fantastic Scoop!
I really like the photo or the new and old buildings, I"m always taking photos like that. I'd love to visit and have some ice cream at The Scoop!
it looks so charming... and sunny! thanks for sharing:)
Thanks for the tour of the South.
Dana
My husband is always very annoyed at how we Americans construct our power lines... he is very German and very exact. Your scenes look so fimiliar and like the home that I know... your post makes me homesick.
Wow... Georgia, that must be a really tough accent to get through. On our honeymoon our tour guide was from London, my husband and I asked each other the whole trip "what did he say"? I understood more from the native Spainish guy speaking German than the Londener... hmmmm.
What a lovely looking town.
I love how quaint your town seems. And I want to get some icecream and go exploring!
Come on over y'all .... it is as quaint as it looks and there's one thing you'll hear over and over is that it could only happen in Thomasville. The history is preserved and the modern is embraced... there's a sign for sale in a local shop that reads "Thomasville, it doesn't get any better than this!". I think they're right. Thanks for the comments...
