Monday night madness....

Did you ever think you may have stretched yourself a Weeeee bit too much?  When you look at the calendar and you can't make it out because there's something scribbled inside every last box, dammit!!!!

Well that's what this year is all about, simplifying, trimming and making time for oneself and ones loved ones without all the brew ha ha of outside activities. What the heck happened to good old fashioned inside activities, you know the ones that just leisurely present themselves to you, unexpectedly and happily. Like the game of Uno at the request of the kids and everyone joins in because it sounds like they're having fun; like borrowing extra Wii remotes from next door (have I ever mentioned how much I love my neighbors? well I do!) so that we can all get off our butts and play tennis of golf togethers (togethers is a Sydism from when she was a wee baby).  Or the whole family along with aforesaid wonderful neighbor, and little friend raking up leaves together.......... as seen here.....

here.....

and here.....very cutie pie!!!

So I guess what I'm saying is that I want to get back to all the spontaneity and joy that we had in the old days before people planned themselves to death with the damn calender, on the damn fridge, with the damn color coordinated items for each member of the family.  So tonight guess what? I came home and changed, then I laid on Ash's bed with her a while and we talked, giggled, drew pictures and read flash cards. Hubster was home at a decent time so he cooked while I sat at the table and talked with him.... I mean we really talked, like I said a little bit, then he answered then we both commented after some thought, and I interjected and he asided and it was great. Now he's gone to do something else while I jot a quick post to keep y'all happy. When he gets back we'll all eat together and talk about our day. Ash, although she's the youngest, is usually the Speaker of the House, she tells us which topic we're going to discuss and who's going to go first with their opinions. Great.... all the while we've been in the kitchen Syd and Ash have been having a drawing competition and watched a little TV. No harm there, a lovely, quiet happy Monday evening!!!! with no madness.... well not the time crunched, aggravating, over scheduled type anyway.

What the heck did you people do tonight??? Really, I need to know!!! Thanks!!!!

Sounds like a great night. Tonight I cooked, and then worked . . still working. Hope you have just as good of a day tomorrow.

We were back to homework with our 1st grader - important but like pulling teeth. I like the "Dear Teacher, take it easy on them..." post-it from your latest post. I was hoping she'd be easy on them (but she wasn't).
