OK folks, what to do what to do.... do I buy the school pictures??? the stiff head shot, ridiculously overpriced and under creative.... or do I take my own with my lovely Nikon????????????
It just feels a little weird not to get the school pictures!!! but I really don't want them!!!
p.s. these weren't even taken with the Nikon so imagine what I could do!

i think you're going to feel guilty not buying them, and they're always classics, so go ahead and do both! (how's that for being non-committal?)
I would say take your own. Wondering what your daughters think about it.
Go on ali get them you know how much fun we have looking back at ours and laughing about the ridicolous clothes we were made to wear
Buy the minimum of the school pictures, just so you have something to mark the year, then, take really cool ones of them to actually give out as their 'annual' photo.....because, there is something to be said for those old school photos, no matter how bad they are....!

I always buy one 8x10 and the class picture. If nothing else that awkward photo is usually in the same pose each year and you'll see very clearly how they've grown over time.
And they're funny to look at later.
I agree with an open heart and sara. It is nice to have them to compare as they get older and to look back on, but I like the 'take your own and give out those' instead of the expensive school ones. The kids may get strong opinions over this matter as they get older...not wanting to be different than the other kids...or maybe by then you'll have started a new fad and everyone (who's cool) at your school will be doing it
You can even take the kids to a photographer and pay half the price that it costs for school pics!
I'm struggling with this one too. I'm not a fan of the posed, forced shots either. But I know I'll feel so guilty if I don't get them.
I think I'm going to buy the smallest possible package I can get. Hopefully it won't be ridiculously expensive and I won't have to feel bad for not ordering.
OK so the consensus it get the small package, I can always shhhhh scan it and order more online.
