So, Ash's little best friend had a birthday, both my girls were invited, their mother asked if we wanted to drop them off or if we'd like to go..... umm hello, it's one of your parties count us in!!!!
This family are so awesome!!! Ashley adores Meredith, she's the youngest, then they have another girl who is about the same age as Sydney, they also have two big girls who are both in college. They attend our church and over the last couple of years I can honestly say we have all become good friends. There was no way I was missing out on what I knew would be a fun afternoon, they always host the best parties for the kids with activities galore and always something a little lot different.
This year was no exception.... it was held on their family property, out in the country miles from anywhere,such a fantastic place with a lake and a three little cabins, one houses a kitchen and eating place, another a cozy little suite with a bed and bathroom, and yet another on an island in the middle of the lake. The kids did EVERYTHING... they swam in the lake, took a little boat ride out to the island cabin, there was a bonfire for toasting marshmallows (proved popular with the guys!!).
The highlight (if you really had to choose one) was the hayride... too cute!!! I loved the creativity here. The girls and boys piled on the back and rode around, they started to sing and my what a beautiful sound filled the air. Being out there in the country their pure little voices echoed around and it was one of those magnificent moments that will stay with me forever. I so wish I'd had my video camera with me for that.
The of course we had the piñata followed by cake and ice cream, just a wonderful fun filled evening that was everything we knew it would be and more.
I think in my next life I want to come back as one of Karen's kids, Karen is such a creative, fun lady and her kids are very lucky!!!! Thank you my dear friend, will you please throw me a party for my next birthday?????

I wanna be one of her kids too. But I'm not big on swimming in lakes. yuk
I think they might have to build another cabin for our next lives...because I also want to be their kid.
